Hostage pharmacist released after 12 days in captivity

Security authorities have managed to release a pharmacist who had been taken hostage for twelve days, a senior source at the Sharqiya Security Department said.

According to earlier investigations, the pharmacist was abducted from his pharmacy in a pickup truck by four gunmen, who fired gunshots in the air to scare away passers-by before fleeing.

The pharmacist’s brother told ONTV satellite channel last Tuesday that his brother’s whereabouts had been unknown, adding that the kidnappers asked for a LE5 million ransom.
