Hurghada receives 64 flights from Europe carrying 10,000 tourists

Hurghada International Airport received on Wednesday 64 regular and charter flights from various European airports, carrying about 10,000 European tourists.

Flights from Germany topped the list of air traffic.

The city of Hurghada in the Red Sea witnessed an increase in the number of cruise trips and visits to Giftun Island and the diving areas, as the sunny hot weather encouraged tourists to go on trips in the sea for diving and marine activities, to visit nature reserves, as well as frequent beaches.

Hurghada International Airport concluded preparations with various concerned agencies and received its first Russian flight on Sunday.

This comes after a halt of about a month for Russian flights to Hurghada due to the ongoing war with Ukraine.

The trip is organized by the major Russian tourism company Biblio-Globus, which announced the resumption of its tourist flights to Hurghada Airport through the air carrier Red Wings instead of Russian Airlines.

With the beginning of April tourist flow increased to the Red Sea resorts to enjoy the bright sun and spring holidays, coinciding with the decline in COVID-19 infections and easing of travel restrictions.

The schedule of flights arriving at Hurghada Airport revealed on April 3 that 104 regular and charter flights arrived from various European airports, which carried about 15,000 tourists within 24 hours.
