Iron cage at LE90,000 built for Badie trial in Minya

A source at Minya Security Directorate said changes have been made to doors and seats in the hall where the trial of Muslim Brotherhood Supreme Guide Mohamed Badie and other 1,228 Brotherhood-affiliated defendants is to take place over many charges of violence.

An iron cage at LE90,000 has been built in the hall, he added. A joint judicial-security committee has inspected the hall on Thursday in preparation for the trial, scheduled to start next Saturday, the source said.

Minya top prosecutor Abdel Rehim Abdel Malek said the defendants are accused of protesting, murder, attempted murder, the use of force and violence against public employees, sabotage, stealing weapons, destroying government records, allowing detainees to escape, possessing weapons without a license, threatening public security and seizing public transport vehicles.
