Israeli forces storm Al-Aqsa Mosque

Israeli army and police forces stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque in large numbers on Wednesday morning.

Youssef Mekheimar, head of the Mourabitoun fil Qods Committee, said mosque attendees closed the doors in the face of Israeli settlers who attempted to raid the mosque from the Maghareba Gate, prompting security forces to push them out through the Selsela Gate.

Israeli forces are still deployed inside the mosque and have besieged the visitors inside the southern mosque and fired tear gas from the windows, causing dozens of the visitors to suffer mild suffocation.

Dozens of residents of Jerusalem and 1948 Arabs spent a second night inside Al-Aqsa Mosque to fend off Israeli settlers who had announced their intention to raid the mosque on Wednesday to conduct rituals to celebrate Throne Day.
