Meeting on Thursday to resolve Renaissance Dam differences

The irrigation ministers from Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia will hold a meeting on Thursday to discuss the technical studies done on the Renaissance Dam.

Alaa Yassin, adviser to the Water Resources and Irrigation Minister, said on Monday that it was agreed with the Sudanese and Ethiopian irrigation ministers to hold a technical meeting in Addis Ababa. The purpose of the meeting is to set a deadline for the amended technical report, which was supposed to have been submitted by the consulting firms assigned to do technical studies of the Renaissance Dam.

He said the meeting will discuss the reasons the French and the Dutch consulting firms did not deliver their report, which should have been handed over to the national committee of the three countries last Wednesday.
