Meteorologists predict thunderstorms starting Tuesday

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority has predicted mild-to-intense rainfall starting Tuesday and lasting until Saturday in the north and east of the country, coupled with thunder along the north coast and in central Sinai.

EMA’s spokesperson Ahmed Abdelaal said Monday that a sharp fall in temperatures is expected starting Thursday, accompanied by strong winds that will disturb navigation in the Red and the Mediterranean seas.

Frost is likely to develop in the northern sections of Upper Egypt as well as in central Sinai, the agency added, urging governors in Alexandria, Marsa Matrouh, North and South Sinai to take precaution.
