
Minister of State for Military Production Salah Soliman Gamblat emphasized on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, his ministry’s keenness on promoting cooperation with the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and training of technical cadres.
The minister underscored willingness of the Military’s Production Ministry to foster cooperation and integration with state institutions to maximize the use of domestic expertise, exchange knowledge, invest in human capital, and transform research projects into practical industrial application.
During a meeting with AASTMT President Ismail Abdel Ghaffar at the headquarters of the Ministry of Military Production in the New Capital to discuss areas of mutual interest and prospects for enhancing collaboration Gomblat said, the meeting aimed to explore ways to strengthen cooperation in education, training, capacity building and scientific research, among other fields, in a manner that supports the country’s sustainable development goals and fosters broader Arab and international partnerships.
He added that the Ministry of Military Production operates within an integrated and unique system comprising 15 industrial companies and four specialized firms in other sectors, including information systems, construction and maintenance, in addition to a center of excellence for science and technology.
The minister further voiced interest in establishing fruitful strategic partnership with the Arab Academy, describing it as a pioneering institution in education and scientific research.
For his part, Abdel Ghaffar congratulated Gomblat on assuming his new post. He expressed the academy’s aspiration to broaden cooperation with the Ministry of Military Production, in light of the ministry’s significant manufacturing, technological, technical, and human capabilities.
He pointed to potential collaboration in organizing intensive training programs to upgrade human resources skills at affiliated entities of both sides, advancing manufacturing processes and best engineering practices, and jointly implementing digital transformation and artificial intelligence projects, among other strategic initiatives.
