Military spokesperson: 11 terrorists killed in Sinai

Military Spokesperson Mohamed Samir said Egypt's military raided on Sunday several alleged terrorist gatherings in North Sinai.

In a statement on Monday, Samir said 11 terrorists were shot by armed forces personnel.

Three vehicles, eight motorbikes without license plates and three tunnels were also destroyed in the operation.

The military has launched a campaign against extremists in Sinai, following the ouster of deposed president Mohamed Morsy.

Several militias have also launched attacks against the military and police, leaving dozens of soldiers and police officers dead.
