Minya Criminal Court, headed by judge Ahmed Abdel Wahab, will resume Tuesday the trial of 25 Muslim Brotherhood leaders, including former Minya governor under the Muslim Brotherhood Mostafa Eissa, and other Muslim Brotherhood and dissolved FJP members.

The defendants are accused of holding and assaulting Tamarod campaign activists in the party headquarters in July 2013.

Director of the Administrative Office of the Muslim Brotherhood Mamdouh Abdel Wahab Mabrouk, the former Secretary of the Freedom and Justice Party in Minya Diaa al-Moghazy, and former MPs Ali Imran, Hussein Salta and Hamdy Ali are among the defendants.

The court will hear Tuesday the prosecution's witnesses to the incident. Three defendants will attend the hearing while the rest are being tried in absentia or were released.
