Mohamed Hamza makes history for Egypt by winning gold at World Fencing Championship

Egyptian fencer Mohamed Hamza achieved a historic victory over the Hong Kong champion in the final match of the World Cup, which is currently being held in the Mexican city of Acapulco.

Hamza was able to win the final with a score of 15-10, earning Egypt a historic gold medal for fencing.

He defeated the Italian champion 15-8 in the semi-finals, after winning the quarter-finals against the Chinese champion with the same score.

During the course of the tournament Hamza also won in round 16 over his compatriot, Egyptian champion Alaa Abul-Qasim, and France champion 15-13 in round 32, before defeating the Serbian player with a score of 15-8 in round 64.

The tournament witnessed the participation of 203 players in the singles competitions and 27 countries in the team competitions.
