Mona Zaki reurns to the big screen with ‘The Black Box’ after a four-year hiatus

With preparations underway for the theatrical release of the Egyptian action-thriller film ‘The Black Box’ (al-Sondok al-Aswad), the film’s producers, Misr International Films, New Century Productions, and Synergy Films, have launched the movie’s official poster.

‘The Black Box’, which is set to debut on October 28, stars Mona Zaki, Mohamed Farraj, Mostafa Khater, and Asmaa Jalal. The movie marks Zaki’s return to the big screen after a four-year hiatus.

The official poster features the faces of the three film stars, with each of them expressing a different emotion.

Farraj is in the poster’s forefront with a stern expression. Zaki follows, looking shocked and sporting a bleeding head wound. Khater is last and looks riddled with fear.

The film follows Zaki as Yasmine, who, during a quiet night at her home, discovers two men breaking into the place in search of something important.

Yasmine tries to escape from them, but she is unable to. The film goes on to show just how long she can withstand the night.

The film is written and directed by Mahmoud Kamel. Its screenplay and dialogue were written by Ahmed al-Dahan and Haitham al-Dahan.

The Black Box is produced by Misr International Films, New Century Productions, and Synergy Films, and is marketed by MAD Solutions.
