Mubarak further shortens curfew hours

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, in his capacity as head of the military, announced on Monday that the official curfew will be reduced from 11 to 10 hours.

The curfew will come into effect on Monday from 8 PM running until 6 AM the next day, according to to state-run television

A curfew was imposed last Friday, 28 January, after protests broke out nationwide. It first started from 7 PM to 7 AM and was then extended as turmoil continued from 3 PM to 8 AM, Cairo time.
