Mufti: Sisi’s visit to India opened new horizons of more cooperation

Egypt’s Mufti Shawky Allam asserted on Sunday that President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s visit to India had opened new horizons of more cooperation and visits between the two countries.

This came during his meeting with Indian Ambassador in Cairo Ajit Gupte.

During the meeting, Allam said that the Indian and Egyptian civilizations have a lot of common features pertaining to religious and ethnic diversity and coexistence, noting that his visit to India was a good opportunity for boosting cooperation and as well as enhancing religious, cultural and political relations.

Gupte hailed the meetings, seminars and statements given by Allam during his visit to India that left a positive impact on the Indian people.

He also lauded Allam’s sermon during Friday prayers that were performed in the biggest mosque in India which stressed the importance of advancing tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
