Equality and discrimination are pivotal issues at this stage, said National Council for Human Rights (NCHR) Chairman Boutros Boutros-Ghali, at a meeting of NGOs.
Ghali called for devising laws and awareness programs to reinforce the value of human rights equality.
He said the council’s citizenship committee sent fact-finding teams to areas that had witnessed sectarian strife and submitted recommendations to the competent authorities.
He added that the council’s meeting with NGOs is a step in handling sensitive issues with transparency.
