Global economic thinker Jeffrey Sachs touched upon the Ben-Gurion Plan, which aims at the expansion and extension of Israel’s borders.
He stated that Benjamin Netanyahu is a war criminal and a perpetrator of genocide, differing from others in his ferocity and barbarism.
However, what makes him unique is the clear strategy for war he has followed as a method to achieve his goal of Israeli control over Palestinian territories and other lands in the region.
Sachs’s remarks came during the Al-Masry Al-Youm Intellectual Encounters event on Wednesday, titled “The Future of Palestine in Light of the Sharm El Sheikh Agreement,” which was moderated by the Chairman of Al-Masry Al-Youm, Mohamed Salmawy, and attended by an elite group of politicians, diplomats, thinkers, researchers, journalists, and media figures.
He asserted that when the Likud Party was established in Israel, it declared its boundary as “from the River to the Sea,” and this was its slogan.
He emphasized that the only entity allowed to exist within these borders is the state of Israel, and this nullifies any vision for the establishment of a Palestinian state.
This is the policy adopted by Netanyahu and his party, and it constitutes the very foundation and strategy of the State of Israel.
Sachs further noted that extremists like Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben-Gvir do not recognize any boundaries for their state.
The global economic thinker stressed: “It is correct to say that perhaps there were partial exceptions with Yitzhak Rabin and Ehud Barak, but there were no serious attempts to reach a political solution to this crisis, and Israel relied on the continuous support of the United States.”
He also addressed the Allon Plan concerning Israeli settlements in the West Bank, which created a new reality on the ground.
Sachs, a global economic thinker, public policy analyst, and one of the most prominent Jewish voices advocating for just causes, previously stated in a special interview with Al-Masry Al-Youm that US policy has been affected by the “arrogance of power” in recent years.
The US tried to convince themselves of the ability to rule the world and control its destiny, believing that no one could stop them and that they could reshape the world as they wished. This is why the US launched “wars of choice” in the Middle East, he stated.
