No flaws in General Motors vehicles in Egypt, says govt agency

The Consumer Protection Agency (CPA) has announced that US automobile manufacturer General Motors (GM) will not include Egyptian markets in its withdrawal of number of defective products following customer complaints.

GM had announced it would withdraw a number of 2011 brands, including Chevrolet Equinox, GMC Terrain, and Cadillac SRX after complaints were registered concerning front seat belts.

The CPA president, Saeed al-Alfy, said however in a statement yesterday that the products offered by GM’s distributors in Egypt–Al-Mansour Automotive Egypt and General Motors Egypt–do not suffer from similar flaws.
