One dead, 296 injured in Friday Abbasseya clashes

One person has died and  296 people have been injured in Friday’s clashes in Abbasseya, the Ministry of Health announced Friday evening.

Samir Samir Anwar, an enlisted soldier, died at Zahra University Hospital after being shot in the abdomen, Dr. AhmedAl Ansari, deputy head of ambulances said.

Ansari said that most injuries were from thrown stones and bottles and tear gas. The injured were treated in Nasr City, and Coptic, and Zahra University, Al-Hussein University,  and Ain Shams hospitals.
