The Personal Status Law Victims Association decided to authorize President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to handle their grievances with the Coptic Orthodox Church.
Coordinator Hany Ezzat al-Masry said in a press statement on Monday that the association will collect signatures for that purpose. “The aim is to put pressure on the next meeting of the Holy Synod,” he said, contending that the government is not supporting the church in this regard.
