Pilot killed as India’s Tejas fighter jet crashes during Dubai Airshow

Jaideep Singh, Spokesperson for the Indian Air Force  stated on Friday, that a domestically produced Tejas fighter jet crashed at the Dubai Airshow in the UAE, resulting in the death of the pilot, according to the Asharq News website.

The HAL Tejas fighter crashed at approximately 2:10 PM local time while performing a flight demonstration in front of a crowd at the Dubai Airshow.

The Dubai Government Media Office announced the pilot’s death, noting that the relevant teams immediately dealt with the incident.

According to media reports, this is the second known accident involving the jet, which is powered by General Electric engines, with the first incident occurring during training in India in 2024.
