Policeman injured in Suez shootout

A police recruit has been injured in a shootout against gunmen in the Al-Salam 1 district in Suez.
 
Two people on a motorcycle started shooting at a police patrol in the Al-Salam 1 district before shots were exchanged between the gunmen and police, leaving the recruit injured in his left arm, according to Major General Tareq al-Gazzar, Suez security chief.
 
The injured man was transferred to the military hospital where security officials checked in on his health.
 
The perpetrators were identified and will soon be arrested, Gazzar added.
 
 Prosecution has already begun an investigation into the incident.
