Producer responds to rumors linking ‘Ward w Chocolata’ series to TV presenter’s murder

Producer Gamal al-Adl spoke about the experience of producing the series “Fi Riwayet Ahaduhum: Ward w Chocolata” (Roses and Chocolate) and the challenges the production faced.

Al-Adl neither confirmed nor denied whether the series documents the real-life murder of TV presenter Shaimaa Gamal.

He clarified, “Regarding the series being inspired by Shaimaa Gamal’s story, the point is that the series is based on real events that explore the story of how ordinary people turn into killers when exposed to certain circumstances, regardless of the specific case of Shaimaa Gamal or any other.”

The work is adapted from real events detailed in the novel “Fi Riwayet Ahaduhum” (In Someone’s Narrative) by Mohamed Ragaa.

Regarding the casting of Mohamed Farrag in the leading role, al-Adl said, “Mohamed is an actor with a very broad canvas, and when we understood the details of the role, Mohamed was our first choice because we know how he will present it. The times I have collaborated with Farrag have always been challenging, and he truly is a wonderful and powerful actor. There are not many actors who possess his acting strength.”

“Ward w Chocolata” is a romantic drama set in contemporary times, reportedly based on true events.

It features a fast pace and a modern treatment that reflects the pulse of society, focusing on human relationships and emotional fluctuations.
