Request to Interpol to catch Jama’a al-Islamiya leading member

Prosecutor General Hesham Barakat addressed on Sunday the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), to catch Assem Abdel Magued, a leading member of Jama’a al-Islamiya, after the Ministry of the Interior reported that he is now outside the country.

An Egyptian citizen claimed to have spotted Abdel Magued last week in Qatar, who then published his picture in Qatar on Facebook.

Barakat also addressed the Interior Ministry to place Abdel Magued’s name on watch lists in all Egyptian airports and ports.

The public prosecution has issued several arrest warrants against Abdel Magued in many cases, including the incitement to murder in Rabea al-Adaweya Square, and the incitement to break into Kerdasa police station.
