Safaga Sea Port receives ultra-luxury cruise ship ‘Scenic Eclipse’

Safaga Sea Port on Wednesday welcomed the ultra-luxury cruise ship “Scenic Eclipse” on its first cruise to Safaga from the Jordanian port of Aqaba, on a tour around the Red Sea ports.

The ship carries several Saudi businessmen on its first trips after the inauguration of the first cruise line between the ports of Jeddah, Yanbu, Aqaba and Safaga to connect Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan.

The ship has 181 crew members, at a length of 167 meters and a draft of 5.6 meters, its nationality is Bahamas, and it rises to about 10 floors.

The competent authorities at Safaga sea port have completed all preparations to receive the ship and the businessmen.

It is scheduled to vacate part of the quay for the anchorage of the cruise ship while it is in the port.

The cruise ship contains multiple recreational areas and is equipped with a submarine for deep-sea exploration trips, two helicopters and many small boats that are used to transport passengers at sea, and many marine games and sports such as rowing boats and paddle boards.

It also boasts a team specialized in excursions. The ship is officially classified at six stars, accommodating 228 passengers.

A tourism program will be organized for Saudi businessmen during their stay on the trip, and all of them received the vaccine against coronavirus and a negative PCR test from the last boarding station.

Navigational sources revealed that the ship will make nine visits this year to Safaga Sea Port, with an average trip every 10 days.
