Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to pay three-day visit to Egypt

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi will receive Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman on Sunday during his three-day visit to Egypt.

The visit of Salman to Cairo during the Sinai 2018 operation suggests Saudi Arabia’s strong support for the Egyptian leadership.

The Saudi Crown Prince is scheduled to tour national projects, including the first phase of King Salman University in Sinai, the tourist city in the Giza Pyramids area and various health initiatives.

Salman has encouraged strong economic cooperation with Egypt and Sisi’s ambitious projects.

It is hoped the visit will strengthen relations between the two countries, as well as see discussion between the two leaders on a number of regional and international issues, and consolidating joint Arab cooperation. Security and stability in the region is also expected to be discussed.

Salman will also discuss counter-terrorism and the need to have an integrated strategy to counter the global terrorist threat.

It is expected that issues regarding the upcoming Arab summit in Saudi Arabia in March will also be discussed.
