Saudi Grand Mufti condemns bombings in Egypt

The Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al Sheikh, denounced the bombings that took place in Egypt, saying they aim to destroy the nation and are committed by “the enemies of Islam.”

The Saudi Mufti refers to the death of 15 people and the injury of 160 others in an explosion that took place last week in Mansoura city, Northern Cairo.

“We ask God to save Egypt from this evil, because Egypt is an inveterate Islamic country with great people,” the Mufti told the London based al-Hayat newspaper. “We must stand by it and defend him.”

Al Sheikh noted that Saudi Arabia stands by Egypt for fear that terrorists and extremist climb their way up the country.

Al Sheikh described terrorists who are hurting innocents and “shedding the blood of the nation” as being "the enemies of Islam.”
