Security official arrested after allegedly taking LE50,000 bribe

The security director of Cairo Governorate headquarters, Brigadier General Mostafa H., was arrested on Friday and remanded into custody for four days on suspicon of bribery.
 
The prosecutor charged the security official with bribery and abuse of power.
 
A citizen filed a claim with the Administrative Control Authority accusing the suspect of requesting a LE50,000 bribe to finalize procedures for the citizen.
 
The incident was recorded on video and audio by the Administrative Control Authority. The recordings were submitted to the public prosecutors, who are currently investigating the claim.
 
The suspect has denied the charges brought against him and denied any link to the money found in his possession during investigations.
 
Officers from the Administrative Control Authority say they found LE50,000 in the suspect's office when they arrested him after the alleged illegal transaction.
