Security source: Alaa, Gamal Mubarak will not be released, detained for other cases

A security source at the prison service sector has said that Alaa and Gamal Mubarak, the two sons of former President Hosni Mubarak, would not be released after they were acquitted of charges of seizing 40,000 square meters in Ismailia allocated to the Pilots Association, as they are detained for other cases, such as the case known as the “presidential palaces.”

Former Prime Minister Ahmed Shafiq was also acquitted of the case.

The “presidential palaces” case pertains to the Mubarak family allegedly spending funds for the palaces on decorating their own villas in Heliopolis, Ahmed Oraby, Katameya Heights, Sharm al-Sheikh and Marina, as confessed by the 70 contractors who carried out those decorations.
