Sisi directs to support Sinai community, expand urban development

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi directed on Wednesday 4/1/2023 to support the Sinai community and to expand urban development.

 

This came during Sisi’s meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, Defense and Military Production Minister Mohamed Zaki, Interior Minister Mahmoud Tawfik, Local Development Minister Hisham Amna, North Sinai Governor Mohamed Shousha and Presidential Adviser for Urban Planning Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed.
Also attendings were Military Operations Authority Head Ahmed Khalifa, CEO of National Authority to Develop Sinai Mohamed Rashwan and Presidency Advisor Hassan Abdel Shafy.
Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi said President Sisi had directed to intensify efforts to implement Sinai Development Strategy to cover all its towns and villages in a way that complies with Sinai’s unique status and state’s developmental efforts nationwide.
Sisi also ordered to support Sinai’s community and increase urban development size according to the latest social and humanitarian studies.
The President went through the general strategic plan for the development of North Sinai from all aspects that involves all ministries and state agencies in addition to outlining the main determinants in this regard based on ending any presence of slums in Sinai and developing all services and facilities.
The meeting tackled the outcome of the state’s previous experiments in developing Sinai that revolved around setting up developmental communities, Bedouin villages and housing units in addition to the measures and efforts that were taken to clear North Sinai of terrorism and takfiri elements to restore security and stability to the area.
During the meeting, the president reviewed the investment vision proposed to be implemented to develop North Sinai governorate that covers its cities, roads and axes.
