Sisi receives S. Sudan’s presidential advisor on security affairs

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi received South Sudan’s presidential advisor on security affairs, Tut Gatluak Manime on Tuesday, Egyptian presidential spokesperson Ahmed Fahmy announced.

The Head of the Egyptian General Intelligence Major General Abbas Kamel also attended the meeting.

Manime handed Sisi a message from South Sudanese President Salva Kiir, regarding ways to enhance the strong bilateral ties between both countries and developments in the situation in Sudan, Fahmy explained.

The two sides consulted on efforts to settle the crisis in Sudan and help restore peace and order.

The officials of the two countries discussed the seriousness of the challenges facing Sudan at all levels.

They also emphasized the importance of encouraging the Sudanese parties to consolidate the armistice and move to a comprehensive and permanent ceasefire, allowing the delivery of humanitarian aid and relief, and paving the way for constructive dialogue to resolve the crisis.
