The Panamanian official said the new Suez Canal project will not compete with the Panama Canal, explaining that the Panama Canal accounts for 5 percent of the world's trade, while the Suez Canal accounts for 10 percent, adding that the Suez Canal's expansion project would only serve to increase global trade.
