Syrians to march in Cairo to demand international support of protests

Syrians based in Cairo plan to march for two days starting Wednesday to denounce what the call international silence on events in Syria.

The march will start from the Arab League in downtown Cairo. It also aims to drum up support for protesters in Syria.

Mohamed al-Hemsy, a former Syrian MP, said the march will be composed of several buses and cars with Syrian flags and photos of Syrians killed in the protests.

Hemsy expected the march to be the biggest one organized in Cairo since Syrian protests began in March.

He said the march will also stop before the United Nations office and the embassies of several countries that could have roles in supporting protesters.

The march will be more important because it's planned to take place shortly before the holy month of Ramadan begins, Hemsy said.
