Temperatures to decline on Friday, 29C in Cairo

Meteorologists expect a decline in temperatures for Friday; mild weather will prevail along the north coast, Cairo and Lower Egypt. Moderate temperatures are forecast in northern Upper Egypt and very hot weather in the south especially during the day.

Maximum temperatures predicted for Friday are 29C in Cairo, 25C in Alexandria, 38C in Qena, 40C in Luxor and 41C in Aswan.

Low- and medium-level clouds will cover most of the country and will be accompanied by rain and thunderstorms in some areas.

Wind will be mostly northwesterly and will be active along the northwestern coast, north Upper Egypt and South Sinai. It is expected to blow up dust in northern Upper Egypt and disrupt navigation in the Red and Mediterranean seas.

Waves in the Mediterranean Sea will range between 2.5-3 meters high, while in the Red Sea waves are expected to be between 2-2.5 meters high. Surface winda will be northwesterly in both seas.
