Three arrested in counter-extremist crackdown in central Sinai

Three people suspected of supporting extremists have been arrested as nine hideouts and vehicles allegedly used by extremists were destroyed in a crackdown in central Sinai, according to a Facebook announcement on Friday by Tamer al-Refaei, the spokesperson for the armed forces.

Additionally, six fields used for producing drugs were destroyed, on top of two drug storing areas.

Al-Refaei emphasized that the armed forces are continuing counter-extremist efforts in central Sinai.
