Three people were killed and seven others injured as a lorry collided with a lamppost in Tiseen Street, New Cairo.
The driver of the lorry, which was carrying several workers, lost control over the steering wheel before colliding into a lamppost, according to a report received by Cairo police.
Ambulances carried the injured to hosptials and traffic was resumed after a clean-up operation.
Traffic accidents account for a considerable portion of mortality rates in Egypt.
