Giza security managed on Friday to secure the release of three women who had been kidnapped in the local district of Boulaq al-Dakrour.
The forces engaged with the two armed kidnappers before killing one of them.
Investigators had concluded that the three women were grabbed from the street on their way to a friend’s birthday party and forced into a microbus. The victims said kidnappers raped them.
The perpetrators negotiated with one of the victims’ husbands for a LE10,000 ransom, but the husband informed police who managed to identify the flat at Faisal district where they being held hostage.
Investigators revealed that the surviving kidnapper is a former convict.
