Trial of 26 suspects involved in ‘Nasr City’ cell postponed to 7 May

Cairo Criminal Court adjourned on Thursday trial of 26 suspects involved in Nasr City terrorist cell lawsuit to 7 May to resume in order for the defense to argue their case.

 

The trial was adjourned due to vacation to celebrate Sinai Liberation Day.

Eighteen suspects have been remanded into custody pending investigations, while eight others are being tried in absentia. They are all accused of forming an illegal group with extremist ideologies and possessing weapons and bombs.

Investigations have indicated that the suspects have been involved in plans to carry out terrorist operations in Egypt.
