The Air Accident Investigation Sector of the General Authority of Civil Aviation in the UAE announced that a Bell212 helicopter, belonging to Aerogulf crashed into the sea, with its two pilots being of Egyptian and South African nationalities.
The GCAA explained it received a report at approximately 20:30 pm on Thursday of the incident, which occurred on a a night training flight that took off from Al-Maktoum International Airport.
Search and rescue teams recovered the wreckage, the statement added, and the search remains ongoing for the surviving crew as the air accident investigation team moved to the scene.
