Unstable weather in Egypt peaks on Monday

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) forecasts a period of significant temperature fluctuations starting Saturday and continuing until the middle of next week.

Weather maps indicate a continued rise in temperatures along the northern coast, Lower Egypt, Greater Cairo, and extending to northern Upper Egypt.

The country will experience warm weather during the day, with temperatures dropping at night across all regions.

The EMA also warned of an approaching heatwave that will cause a further rise in temperatures, peaking on Monday, which coincides with the Sham El-Nessim holiday.

There will also be a deepening of a very hot air mass originating from the Arabian Peninsula and the seasonal Sudanese low-pressure system.

Temperatures are expected to rise, reaching 40C in the south of the country.

The meteorological authority warned against being misled by the temporary drop in temperatures on Saturday and Sunday and advised against dressing too lightly at night.

It warned those with respiratory and nasal conditions to wear masks, as weather maps indicate intermittent dust-raising winds.

Rain is expected to return during the week, starting Saturday, April 19, accompanied by a predicted drop in temperatures.
