US dollar prices decline in Egypt’s banks

The US dollar exchange rate continued to decline on Thursday to stand at LE 19.5 and LE18.75 in the bank. 

The price of the dollar Thursday at the National Bank of Egypt and Banque Misr stood at LE18.85 for selling, and LE18.65 for buying, compared to LE19 for selling and LE18.8 for buying on Wednesday.

It declined to LE18.75 for selling and LE18.5 for buying in the CIB, compared to LE18.95 for selling and LE18.65 for buying on Wednesday.

The dollar price had jumped by over 80 piasters in banks earlier in the week.

The CBE announced the floatation of the Egyptian pound on November 3, as part of several economic reformatory measures in relation to an IMF loan.

The highest sale prices recorded in 13 banks operating in Egypt since the flotation decision for the dollar was LE19.5 at Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank and the National Bank of Greece, and LE19.4 at the Arab African International Bank.

The highest buying prices were LE18.99 at Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, and LE18.90 at the National Bank of Greece.
