A five-story building collapsed at downtown Cairo on Qasr al-Nil street Saturday morning, injuring four people.

Rescue workers managed to rescue 14 other people from the debris.

Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel-Aal and the head of Cairo Security Directorate Ashraf al-Guindy moved to the scene to oversee rescue operations.

The collapsed building is located on an area of 1,500 square meters, and consists of five floors. A foreign exchange company was located on the ground floor, alongside a cloth workshop, several stores, administrative offices and a closed furniture showroom.

Cairo Governor directed that the two families affected by the collapse of the building be accommodated in residential units fully furnished in the al-Asmarat area of Moqattam.
