Weather forecast for Thursday

Meteorologists predict hot and humid weather on Thursday in Cairo and Lower Egypt, and hotter weather in the north of Upper Egypt, with a maximum of 34 degrees centigrade in the captial.

Very hot weather is predicted in the south of Upper Egypt. Qena should hit 39C, while Luxor will be around 40C and Aswan around 41C.

The north of Egypt, meanwhile, will be cooler, with Alexandria at 30C, while the Sinai resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh will be a much warmer 36C.

Mist will affect visibility on roads in the morning along the north coast, in Cairo, Lower Egypt, and the Suez Canal cities.

Medium and low-level clouds are expected along the north coast, possibly accompanied by rain in the northwestern coast.

The wind will be mostly northwesterly and moderate in strength. It will be active in the Red Sea, and the Gulf of Suez, possibly disrupting maritime navigation.

Waves on the Mediterranean and Red seas are expected to average between 2 and 2.5 meters high. A northwesterly surface wind is expected on both seas.
