The Egyptian armed forces announced drilling 13.6 million cubic meters in the Suez Canal, as part of the new project being implemented under its supervision.
The armed forces said in a statement on Thursday that the total number of companies currently working on the project is 43.
Five more companies are expected to begin work soon after they receive imported equipment and tools that are being transported from Upper Egypt.
