Hackers claim responsibility for scramble of Bassem Youssef show for second time

A group of hackers, calling themselves the ‘Symbol of Justice- Electronic Egyptian Army’ has claimed responsibility for scrambling of the privately-owned satellite TV channel MBC Masr, while Al-Bernameg show for the satirist TV host Bassem Youssef was being aired on Friday.

The jamming over the channel’s signal on Friday was the second time, the first being the last airing on 7 March.

On Facebook, the group posted saying that it’s problem with Youssef is not political, adding that they do not belong to any sovereign authority.

Few hours before the show, the group expressed intentions to ‘celebrate with Bassem’ the jamming on the TV channel. The group said it was behind the short scramble over the show last week.

The group also threatened 15 TV channels, including ones affiliated to the Muslim Brotherhood and one for the dancer called Sama al-Masry, that broadcast from a satellite whose signal is near to that of the Nilesat.
