The law divided the republic into 237 constituencies allocated for individual seats and four consituences allocated for party list seats; 420 of parliament seats will be comprised of independents and 120 for party-based candidates, said the sources.

The sources told Al-Masry Al-Youm on the condition ofanonymity that the commission so far plans to hold the election in three stages.

The commission held a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the application of the law and the conditions to be applied to different categories of candidates.

Subcommittees for the High Parliamentary Election Commission in governorate elections have sent lists of names of workers at local councils and judicial bodies who would monitor the election, said judicial sources.
