Minister: No parliamentary elections before Ramadan

Transitional Justice Minister Ibrahim Al-Heneidy has announced that the parliamentary elections will not be held until after Ramadan, due to technical and security issues.

Moreover, the final legislative draft is not ready yet, he added, as the drafting committee has received conflicting statistics about the number of voters in 12 ‎constituencies.

The Minister said the committee reached a preliminary decision last ‎week, that the number of parliamentary seats would be increased from 567 to 592.

However, the difference in voter numbers in 12 constituencies still ‎exceeded the determined percentage.
