The two officials was accompanied by Egypt’s International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr and Luxor Governor Mohamed Badr. They will visit archaeological sites and view restoration projects being carried out by US archaeological missions and research institutes in the sites of al-Khouka, Habo and Zeraa Abul Naga.

Tight security measures were undertaken in the province to secure the US officials' visit, which will last for two days.

The purpose of the visit is to hold talks about mapping out effective strategies to boost Egypt's economy and promote Luxor's tourism industry.
