US President Donald Trump said in a social media post today that Iran will “pay the price” after taking “too long to negotiate a deal.”
“Iran is all talk and no action. The Bully of the Middle East is DEAD!!! They’ve taken too long to negotiate a deal that would have been great for them, now they will have to pay the price!!!” Trump posted on Truth Social.
The president did not specify what “the price” would entail but it comes after the US said it launched a new wave of strikes against Iran Tuesday after an Army Apache helicopter went down near the Strait of Hormuz.
A US official told CNN yesterday that the new strikes were intended as a warning shot at Iran and that the US believes they won’t hinder negotiations to end the war.
Trump’s latest post comes after he told reporters earlier in the week that the two countries could come to a deal within two or three days.
