N. Korea arrests US student for ‘hostile activities’

North Korea said Friday it had arrested a US student on charges of carrying out unspecified "hostile activities", the official KCNA news agency reported.
 
The student, from the University of Virginia, was detained while "carrying out anti-DPRK hostile activities", KCNA said, using the official acronym for North Korea.
 
"He is now under investigation," it added.
