Al-Azhar University President Osama al-Abd told the student union on Wednesday that granting the campus security the power of arrest is for the protection of students.
“It is better than taking students to police stations for interrogation,” he said. “None of my students shall be subjected to psychological or moral harm by any external element.”
He called on the union to collaborate with the administration to portray the correct image of the Al-Azhar students.
