Head of EgyptAir Ayman Nasser said that larger planes would head to Damascus and Aleppo to accommodate larger numbers of Egyptians and Syrians wishing to return to Egypt.

The Airbus 330, which can hold 265 passengers, would replace Boeing 737s which can accommodate 150 passengers, according to Nasser.

Egyptians are being evacuated with coordination with the Egyptian embassy in Damascus.

Nasser said that flights heading to Damascus and Aleppo have seen an increase in the number of passengers. Each flight has carried 40 passengers, after the number had bottomed out at 25 to 30 passengers in the past few days.

Sources also said that the insurance companies have not changed fees on aircraft bound for Syria.
